She studied Image and Sound at the Complutense University of Madrid. Aurara is a cultural manager and she has developed her professional career in the performing arts, covering the different artistic, technical and management sectors involved in theatre.

She began her professional career as assistant artistic director to Pedro Moreno in the film La noche más larga 1990, and with him she moved to the theatre as assistant costume designer in numerous productions until 1992, when she joined the technical team of the international production Tirano Banderas in Paris, at the Odeon Theatre.

In 1993 she collaborated with the Teatre Lliure in Barcelona as assistant director to Lluis Homar and Ariel García Valdés, taking charge of the tour management of various productions and as production manager from 1994 to 1996.

In 1996, she returned to Madrid and joined the technical team of the Teatro Real with José Luis Tamayo for its inauguration in 1997. After 8 years at the Teatro Real, she joined Gerardo Vera's team at the head of the Centro Dramático Nacional, first as Production Manager and later as Assistant Director; until 2012, when she moved back to Barcelona as Assistant Artistic Director of the Teatre Lliure with Lluis Pasqual. In 2018, after Lluis Pasqual's resignation, she was appointed Artistic Director of the theatre until February 2019, when she moved to Malaga to become Executive Director of the Soho CaixaBank Theatre, the position that she currently holds.
