Remedios Zafra (Zuheros, Córdoba, 1973 )is an essayist and senior scientist at the Instituto de Filosofía del Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas. She has been a university lecturer in Art, Anthropology, Politics of the Gaze and Gender Studies. Her work focuses on the critical study of contemporary culture, feminism, creation and the internet. Since 2000, she has curated and coordinated various projects and exhibitions on art and digital culture and directed the Equisceroyuno platform for research and artistic practice on feminism, identity and networks".
She is the author of the essays Frágiles (Anagrama 2021), El entusiasmo. Precariedad y trabajo creativo en la era digital (Anagrama Essay Prize 2017 and Critical State Prize), Ojos y capital (Consonni, 2018), (h)adas (El Público de las Letras and Málaga Essay Prize 2013), Un cuarto propio conectado (Fórcola, 2010), among others. Her work has won the Meridiana Culture Prize; the Communication Prize of the Associació de Dones Periodistes de Catalunya; the Caja Madrid Essay Prize; the Leonor de Guzmán Research Prize and the Carmen de Burgos Essay Prize.
