Artistic director, Museo Picasso Málaga

Between 1996 and 2002 he was the chief curator for the Exhibition Department of Barcelona's Museu d'Art Contemporani. Between 2003 and 2009 he was the director of the Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo in Seville. Since October 2009 he helds the post of artistic director at the Museo Picasso Málaga, where he has curated and organised many cultural projects and several exhibitions, including ‘The Grotesque Factor’, ‘Picasso. German Records’, the retrospective ‘Warhol. Mechanical Ar’t (CaixaForum Barcelona, CaixaForum Madrid and Museo Picasso Málaga), ‘Picasso’s South. Andalusian References’, ‘Bruce Nauman. Rooms, Bodies, Words’ and, in collaboration with the Fundación Juan March, the exhibition ‘Genealogies of Art’ (Fundación Juan March, Madrid y Museo Picasso Málaga). In 2012 he awarded the Order of Arts and Letters by French Ministry of Culture. In 2019 was elected as Academician of the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Telmo de Málaga.
