Director, Conjunto Arqueológico Dólmenes de Antequera
Bartolomé Ruiz González is a civil servant archaeologist of the Cuerpo Superior Facultativo de Conservadores del Patrimonio Histórico de la Junta de Andalucía, having held various positions of responsibility in the administration of the Diputación de Málaga and the Junta de Andalucía with functions as technical expert, management and senior management in matters related to cultural management and actions for the protection of Historical Heritage.
Since 1979 he has been working as a cultural manager, heritage specialist, researcher and teacher specialising in the protection of Historical Heritage. His main lines of research are related to cultural planning, prehistoric archaeology and museology.
Since 2004 he has directed the Dólmenes de Antequera Archaeological Ensemble, from where he has promoted the protection and enhancement of its Archaeological Zone, instructing the dossier for the inscription of the Dólmenes de Antequera Site on the UNESCO World Heritage Representative List in July 2016. For this he received the Medal of Merit of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Granada 2017. He has formulated the Master Plan 2018 - 2025 and the Museological Project of the Site of the Dolmens of Antequera.
He is a lecturer in the subject La gestión del Patrimonio Histórico-Artístico of the Official Master's Degree in the Safeguarding of Historical and Artistic Heritage. The Legacy of Al-Andalus at the University of Granada, as well as in various master's degree courses on historical heritage and museology. He has participated as a lecturer in numerous courses and conferences, invited by different Spanish universities.
