Director, Conjunto Arqueológico de Carmona

José Ildefonso Ruiz Cecilia holds a degree in Geography and History, specialising in Prehistory and Archaeology from the University of Seville (1997) and a PhD in History from the same university in 2016. He worked as an archaeologist at Osuna Town Council (Seville) between 1998 and 2007. In the latter year he joined the Andalusian Regional Government as a senior curator of historical heritage, initially working at the Provincial Delegation of the Ministry of Culture in Huelva, and since 2010 at the Archaeological Ensemble of Carmona, first as a technical advisor and since 2017 as director.
