Director, Museo de Bellas Artes de Sevilla
María del Valme Muñoz Rubio, museum curator and current director of the Seville Museum of Fine Arts since 2010, was previously head of the Department of Conservation and Restoration of the art gallery.
As a curator at the Museo de Bellas Artes de Sevilla, one of her main commitments has been to promote research into the technique and materials used by the Sevillian school of painting, making the technical examination of the collections one of the essential lines of research at the museum.
She has published and given lectures mainly related to the Museum's collections and on the technique of its most outstanding artists such as Pedro Millán, El Greco, Pacheco, Roelas, Alonso Vázquez, Zurbarán, Bernabé de Ayala and Murillo, among others.
She has been curator and scientific coordinator of important exhibitions held at the Museum, including the Casa de Alba Collection; Francisco Pacheco, theorist, artist and teacher; Murillo and the Capuchins of Seville, Murillo IV Centenary and Montañés, Master of masters.
